2024 Schedule Preview

Liquid Football's 2024 Midwest Premier League schedule.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming season, Liquid Football is proud to announce the release of the club’s 2024 Midwest Premier League schedule. Returning for its second season in the Great Lakes East conference, Liquid Football will look to improve upon its inaugural season's 8W 2D 2L record.

The season kicks off on May 12th, with Liquid Football hitting the road to take on Thundercats SC in what promises to be an intense battle. The Thundercats will look to avenge their 3-2 defeat from the 2023 season.

Liquid then travels to Washington Township to play Michigan Stars u-23 on May 17th. The Stars finished 4th last season and always have great players on their team because they are a feeder team for their professional team in NISA.

Liquid Football's home opener will take place on June 2nd, with the team hosting Futsal Factory Academy at 5:00 pm at their new home field, Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview. Last season, Liquid played Futsal Factory in their first-ever home opener and narrowly escaped a hard-fought game, winning 2-1.

Next week, Liquid will be hosting the Michigan Jaguars on June 7th. Last season, the Jags were second to last in the table, but Liquid Football escaped with a narrow victory at home 1-0 against the club from Novi, formed by Michigan Jaguars youth academy products.

A few days later, they travel to the expansion club and newest member of the Great Lakes East conference, Ypsilanti Yetis. The Yetis have a young squad, many with college experience, and will surely make it an interesting match and a debut season to follow closely. One player to watch on Ypsilanti Yetis is Thierry Mesias. He is versatile and athletic, can play multiple positions, is very fast, and is tricky to mark.

Liquid Football then visits Cedars FC in their third away game in a row. Cedars were a mid-table team last season, but have made a great effort to improve their squad this offseason  with the addition of head coach Sam Pirane (former Detroit City FC women’s coach), and players like Ahmad Zreik, with professional experience overseas.

Liquid Football hosts Troy United on June 29th in its first home game in three weeks. Last season, Troy United hosted Liquid Football’s first game ever, which Liquid won 3-1.

Liquid Football will hit the road to play the second leg of their home-and-home against Futsal Factory on July 12th.

The following two matches are likely to be the most significant of the season. Liquid Football hosts Inter Detroit on July 17th and Livonia City just a few days after July 20th. This last stretch of games may be pivotal, with significant implications for the title race.

As Liquid Football prepares to face the challenges of the 2024 Midwest Premier League season, the club remains committed to its values of professionalism, a player-first approach, and on and off-the-field excellence. Stay tuned for further updates and exclusive content on the club’s social media as Liquid Football embarks on this exciting journey. _______________________________________
