Liquid Football (1-2-1) finally plays its home opener against Futsal Factory Academy (2-2-1) at University Liggett School in Grosse Pointe Woods on Saturday, June 10th. Kick-off is at 6:45 PM.
Liquid Football is coming off a 3-0 loss in a friendly with Fort Wayne FC. Fort Wayne dominated possession in the first half, scoring two goals via Henri Kumwenda and Nkosi Graham's connections. Halfway through the second half, Mason Gonzales intercepted a pass in a dangerous area and scored to make it 3-0.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Futsal Factory Academy is coming off a 5-1 home win against Holland Rovers.
Who is Futsal Factory Academy? They are a futsal and soccer development club with multiple branches in different states. They aim “to develop players by adding their flair to the curriculum, instill passion in our players, and teach them to value and respect all aspects of the game because the game is bigger than all of us.”
Not only do they develop young players, but they also have men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor teams.
Futsal Factory Academy head coach Drew Ducker has his USSF A coaching license, played on the US futsal national team, and has a very long coaching resume. Futsal Factory is an experienced team mostly made up of players with college soccer experience.
Liquid Football has some experienced players, Beni Tanyi and Jaston Workman, returning from injury just in time for the home opener.
Liquid Football has also made a new signing. Detroit City FC legend Cyrus Saydee. He played ten seasons for DCFC from 2012-2021. As of the beginning of the 2023 season, he was the number two all-time goal scorer for DCFC with 23 goals.

Cyrus Saydee- Saydee is a center midfielder who is good at distributing but can also beat defenders on the dribble.
Jaston Workman - Workman is a versatile player who can play multiple positions. He is good with the ball at his feet and knows how to pick out a pass.
Futsal Factory Academy
Robert Dameron- Dameron played for Madonna and also plays on the US Futsal National Team.
Ben Pritchard- Pritchard was also selected for the US National Mini football team, where he, Dameron, and Team USA won the EMF Nations games in Galanta, Slovakia.
